#SalesforceWinter27 [Tip 33] (Video 1:59) - Filter Flow Collections Without a Loop

Winter '27 adds a new resource type to Flow Builder: Collection Filter Criteria.

It pulls the records you need out of a collection in one step. You pick the collection, set the criteria the records must match, and optionally add a sort order. Then you use the resource in an Assignment element to build a new collection from the matches. No Loop, no Decision inside it, no Assignment adding records one at a time.

Filtering records with Loop elements is a leading cause of flow performance problems, including CPU time limit errors. Salesforce says the new resource is over 200 times faster than a loop.

If your records contain related records, such as an Apex-defined data type, you can filter on child relationships too, adding relationship levels as needed.

Product Area: Flow

To use it, open the Toolbox, click New Resource, and choose Collection Filter Criteria as the resource type. Here it is in action.

It's rolling out gradually from September 2026, so it may not be in your org yet.

If any of your flows hit CPU limits, look for a Loop whose only job is to move matching records into a new collection. That's exactly the pattern this replaces, and those flows are worth revisiting first.
